He had high myopia with corneal astigmatism, but by operating with corneal incisions on the steep meridian we achieved good uncorrected vision, and he was satisfied with life without glasses. He wished for reading distance at near, so we set it for 30 cm.

Patient questionnaire

Answers translated from Japanese.

What was your condition before surgery?

In December 2015 (Heisei 27), I suddenly woke up one morning, looked outside, and both near and far were blurry. I thought my presbyopia had progressed again.
That's because in April 2014 (Heisei 26) and April 2015 (Heisei 27) a nearby eye clinic had diagnosed presbyopia.

What led you to have surgery?

Seeing should be a given, but things were hazy, and I felt driving was dangerous.

Which did you choose, a multifocal lens or a monofocal lens?

It's good not to have to wear glasses.
